EQ8 DEFEND Multipurpose Sanitising Spray is a ready-to-use hypochlorous solution for stables, tack and equine environments.[1]

How to use it

  1. 1 Shake well before use.[1]

How it works

Hypochlorous is the molecule that white blood cells called neutrophils make to destroy microbes they have engulfed.[3] It reacts within milliseconds with the sulphur-containing parts of proteins, so several vital systems in a microbe fail at once.[4][5] Once released, it breaks down in light to chloride and oxygen, with an estimated half-life of 1 to 4 hours, and it does not build up in living things.[6]

For external use on inanimate surfaces and equipment only. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. Keep out of reach of children. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.[1]

Not classified as hazardous for supply or for transport. Store below 30 °C, out of direct sunlight. Do not freeze.[1]
